Timelines seem okay to me. Kel alive = Kel's story. Kel dead = Hope's story. Simple! When you start having scenes with only characters from both timelines, this may become more of a problem (or part of the solution!), but for now it's easy.
I was thinking of the Kel + boy situation in terms of who she'd want to keep a secret, but if you want me to start narrowing it down to people who we already know Kel knows, that's fine by me, too.
